Training and Tools

Getting disoriented and lost inside a structure fire is a danger every Firefighter faces when entering an unfamiliar building that's filled with smoke. Prevention is the first step to avoiding a LODD or injury, but preparation and being able to quickly react to a life and death situation is also essential.......

When the unthinkable happens, and a firefighter collapses on an emergency scene, we need to be prepared to provide the highest level of care possible. We know that good neurological outcomes can be had in out of hospital cardiac arrest provided high quality chest compressions are initiated early.

What We Do

Volunteer firefighters volunteer to fight fires and protect their communities. They don't volunteer to get cancer. These stories from volunteer firefighter families are just a few of the reasons why the Firemen's Association of the State of New York (FASNY) is fighting to get presumptive cancer coverage legislation passed in New York State.
It's not always parades and rescuing kitties from trees. What many don't see is the darker and dangerous side to firefighting. This firefighter tribute video shows the risks firefighters make each and every day for us.
