If you are wondering where people are getting the blue reflective address signs popping up all around the valley you can thank the Comox Valley Monarch Lions Club.
The Lions 911 Reflective Address Signs is a community/ fundraiser project that will help keep families safe. Every year people spend precious minutes waiting for emergency services because the drivers can't find their home. When it's dark out, address numbers may not be visible from the street. Households that frequently have guests over in the evening can also benefit greatly from installing a reflective address sign. They'll help food delivery drivers, taxis, and home care workers too!
“We happy to see the Lions blue signs with white numbers popping up all over the Valley, and they are very effective, especially at night. They are very easy to install because of the predrilled holes. 100% of the money raised from this project goes directly back into the community,” said Lion Ken Hand.

New basketball court at Gaglardi Academy
Comox fire fighters assisted with the construction of a new basketball court at the Gaglardi Academy.
Gaglardi Academy, Comox Firefighters, Tayco Paving, the Mackinnon Clan, and the Town of Comox all contributed to create this gem!

New Water Recovery System
We have just finished installing a custom built water recovery system that will save an estimated 1,000,000 litres of drinking water every year. It captures rainwater and water used during training and recirculates it through a 15,000 gallon holding tank to be reused over and over. Courtenay firefighter honoured
