A BIG, HUGE congrats to CAPTAIN BILL WINDRAM who has just completed 35 years of dedicated service to our fire department and community.
Bill has been and still is a huge part of our organization serving in most positions and attending over 5,000 incidents.
He has been a great mentor and role model for others to follow.
He continues to lead a Platoon of firefighters and provide duty coverage from time to time.
I am proud to call Bill my friend and truly appreciate all he has done for us and the support he has shown me.

The Comox Fire Training Centre put the Vanier hockey team through two hours of vigorous exercise yesterday. The weather wasn't the greatest, but the kids kept warm through physical activity (hot chocolate helped too!). Many thanks to the volunteers that kept everything running smooth!

From CTV News
Three people were rescued from the frigid waters off the coast of Comox after their dinghy capsized, according to first responders.
The trio was returning to a boat anchored in the Comox Harbour when they fell in around 6 p.m.
They remained in the water for about 20 minutes before help arrived, said Comox Fire Chief Gord Schreiner.
Their cries for help could be heard from shore, according to Schreiner.
A boater from Holland managed to pull all three people to safety and get them to dry land, where they were handed blankets for warmth.
None of them suffered any major injuries, Schreiner said.
“All appear to be in good health, all are cold and wet, and we’re now trying to find accommodations for them for the rest of the evening,” he said.
The Canadian Coast Guard was also called to the incident.
